Betty Jean Lasley

Betty Jean Lasley, age 85, died on Friday, June 22, 2018 at her residence after an extended illness. Her family was at her bedside.
Betty was born in Bemis, TN on May 20, 1933, the daughter of the late Fassell Dewey and Emma Lorene Morris Weaver. She graduated from West TN. Business College. Betty was retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Education. She was a charter member of Englewood Baptist Church of Jackson. She enjoyed camping along with her husband and family, spending many hours at Pickwick. She also loved to make ceramic pieces and spent countless hours creating beautiful cross-stitch pictures.
She is survived by her husband William “Bill” Lasley of Jackson, TN; Children; William Ronald “Ronnie” Lasley (Suzan) of Jackson, TN; Vickie Hill (Glenn) of College Grove, TN; Greg Lasley (Melise) of Jackson, TN; Lori Beck (Doug) of Franklin, TN and Paula Rankin (Wes) of Valparaiso, IN; thirteen grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Edward Weaver, Sr., Naomi Hailey and Bill Weaver.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, July 7, 2018 in the chapel of Englewood Baptist Church with Dr. Brent Lay and Dr. Philip Jett officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Spencer Hill, Joseph Lasley, Will Lasley, John Lasley, Neal Lasley, Michael Kirton.
The family extends their appreciation for the wonderful care and love provided by all the caregivers and Hospice.
The family is requesting memorial donations be directed to Englewood Baptist Church, 2267 N. Highland Ave., Jackson, TN 38305.
