Betty J. “Gina” Roark, age 57, died on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Gina was born in Lancaster, PA on February 14, 1959, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Marie Wilkins. She was married to Joseph Allen Roark who preceded her in death in January 2014. Gina was a homemaker who loved to fish and go camping. She was a long time member of two bar -b-que teams the Snafu Smokers and the J-Town Smokers for over twenty-four years. She was a loving mother who was always caring and nurturing. She had a true passion for helping people and didn’t hesitate to bring them into her home and provide for them.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Borges and husband Louis of Jackson, TN; three sons, David Fillingim and wife Amber of Pinson, TN; Jessie Fillingim of Jackson and Johnathan Cox and wife Nicole of Montpelier, OH; two nieces, Laura Jones and Megan Walls of Jackson, TN; fifteen grandchildren and numerous brothers and sisters.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Friday, July 29, 2016 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Dr. Jerry Tidwell officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Wayne Horton, Gauge Burns, Louis Borges II, Greg Thompson, Andy Roark and Wesley Haskins.
